Establish your niche and ideal audience
To get started creating your email list building plan you need to have a niche and know who your target audience is. Do you know who your target audience is?
If not, it’s time to do some research and find out. Knowing what your target audience wants and needs is key to creating content that engages them and brings you results. So take a few minutes and figure out who your target audience is, what they want, and how you can give it to them. You won’t regret it!Â
If you’re a content creator, it’s important to know what your audience wants and needs so that you can create a lead magnet and grow your email list. After all, you want to make sure they keep coming back for more! Luckily, research can help. By studying your target audience and their habits, you can get a good idea of what they’re looking for. So don’t be afraid to do some digging – the results could help you create irresistible content that keeps them hooked!
As a content creator, it’s important to also know who your competition is and how you can set yourself apart. Take some time to assess your competition and see how you can stand out from the crowd. You may be surprised at just how much difference a little bit of creativity can make.
Create a lead magnet
Creating a lead magnet is a great way to gather leads from your audience. But what is a lead magnet, and how do you create one? A lead magnet is basically an incentive that you offer your audience in exchange for their contact information.
This could be anything from a free eBook or report to a discount on your services. To create a lead magnet, start by brainstorming some ideas for content that your target audience would find useful.
Once you have an idea, put together a quick outline or draft and then polish it up into a final product. Finally, make sure to promote your lead magnet so that as many people as possible can see it!

You’ve put a lot of thought into creating your lead magnet, but how easy is it for people to sign up? If you make it hard to subscribe, people may not bother. Here are some tips on making it easy for people to sign up for your lead magnet.Â
1) Make sure the subscription process is simple. Don’t ask for too much information, and use a recognizable and user-friendly form design.Â
2) Place a sign-up form on every page of your website. This will ensure that visitors can easily subscribe no matter where they are on your site.Â
3) Use social media to drive traffic to your sign-up form. Promote your offer

Place a call-to-action everywhere
By adding a call-to-action (CTA) to every possible location on your website and social media, you can see a significant increase in signups.
Here are some places you might consider:
- Website Pages
- Blog Posts
- Social Media Captions
- Short Videos and Stories
- YouTube Videos
Nurture your list with a welcome sequence
Think about the last time you signed up for a mailing list. Maybe it was for an online course, or to get notified when a new blog post is published. What happened when you signed up?
Chances are, you received a series of emails welcoming you to the list and explaining what you can expect from being a subscriber.
This is called a welcome sequence, and it’s an important tool for nurturing your email list. This is usually a series of 3 – 7 Automated emails. You can set one up quickly and easily using tools like Convertkit, Flodesk, Mailchimp and more.Â
Have a weekly newsletter and content plan to nurture your email list
If you’re not using a weekly newsletter and content plan to nurture your email list, you’re missing out on a lot of potential growth. I’ve talked with many content creators who feel guilty of putting all their energy into creating great blog posts, and then forgetting to market them and share them to their email list!
If this is you, you’re not alone. Even the best content can go unnoticed if you don’t promote it in the right way.Â
One of the most effective ways to market your content is to nurture your email list. A weekly newsletter is a great way to do that. But creating quality content on a regular basis can be tricky.
That’s where a content plan comes in handy.Â
