10 Emails I’d Send My Subscribers This August

One of the biggest mistakes I see business owners make with email marketing is assuming every email needs to be a promotion, launch, or major announcement.
It doesn’t.
Some of the best emails are the simplest ones.
Your subscribers joined your list because they wanted to hear from you. They don’t need a perfectly crafted sales campaign every week. Often, they simply need a reason to remember you exist.
August is a great month to reconnect with your audience, share what you’re working on, and stay visible before the busy fall season arrives.
If I were planning my email content this month, here are 10 emails I’d consider sending.
But first… get yourself a place to save all your content ideas for August with a copy of my content planner.

1. The Biggest Lesson This Summer Taught Me
Share something you’ve learned recently.
It could be a business lesson, a mindset shift, a mistake, or something that surprised you.
People connect with lessons because they’re relatable and often help your audience avoid the same challenges.
2. Here’s What I’m Prioritizing Right Now
Give your audience a behind-the-scenes look at your current focus.
What projects are you working on?
What are you improving?
What has your attention this month?
This type of email helps people understand how you think and what matters to you.
3. What I’m Working On Behind the Scenes
People are naturally curious about what happens behind the curtain.
Share a project you’re creating, a system you’re refining, a launch you’re preparing for, or something you’re learning.
You don’t have to reveal everything. Just invite people into the process.
4. The Question I Keep Getting Asked Lately
Think about a question you’ve answered more than once recently.
Turn your response into an email.
If one person is asking, there’s a good chance others are wondering the same thing.
5. A Resource That’s Making Things Easier Right Now
Share a tool, template, book, podcast, worksheet, article, or resource you’ve found helpful.
People appreciate practical recommendations, especially when they save time or simplify a problem.
6. Something I Changed My Mind About
This is one of my favorite email topics.
Talk about a belief, strategy, or opinion you’ve changed over time.
What do you think differently about today than you did a year ago?
These emails often spark great conversations because they show growth and honesty.
7. What I’d Do Differently If I Started Today
Imagine you were starting your business from scratch.
What would you focus on?
What would you skip?
What would you do sooner?
Your audience can learn a lot from your hindsight.
8. My Focus for Fall
August is often the bridge between summer and fall.
Share what you’re planning, preparing for, or focusing on during the next season of your business.
This creates anticipation and helps bring your audience along for the journey.
9. A Client or Customer Win
Share a success story, transformation, testimonial, or encouraging result.
People love seeing what’s possible.
You don’t need a dramatic case study. Even small wins can be meaningful.
10. A Reminder Someone Needs to Hear
Sometimes your audience doesn’t need another strategy.
They need reassurance.
What’s something you find yourself repeating often?
What’s a reminder your audience may need right now?
Those messages tend to resonate because they’re timely, simple, and human.
Save the List
You don’t need a complicated email strategy to stay connected with your audience.
In fact, some of the most effective emails are simply thoughtful updates, useful lessons, and honest conversations.
The goal isn’t to send perfect emails.
The goal is to stay visible, build trust, and give people a reason to keep opening your messages.
