The daily checklist that scaled my business to 30k months

I recently received this question that got me thinking deeply about my initial journey in my online business:
“Do you think you could tell us about your first 6 months of business? What did you do daily? How did you prioritize, etc.?”
In the early days of starting my business, my day-to-day activities were mainly focused on learning, implementing, promoting, and engaging.
When I first jumped into entrepreneurship, the journey was far from easy. There were new things to learn around every corner and challenges that tested my optimism regularly. However, I discovered a surprisingly simple tool that helped me overcome those hurdles: a simple daily checklist.
Every solo entrepreneur begins with a similar dilemma: overwhelming tasks, countless strategies, and a high risk of burnout if not managed effectively. I was no exception, and the pressure to sustain and scale the business in order to reach my goal (quit my 9 to 5 job) was getting stronger with each passing day.
But here’s the interesting part – the power of my daily checklist was game-changing. Not only did it help me organize my workflow, it offered clarity, allowing me to focus on critical activities (regularly and consistently) that directly contributed to business growth.
After adopting this checklist, I began to notice significant improvements within my first month of, reaching consistent growth month over month. Eventually making me a consistent $30k / month in revenue. I’ve previously explained my secrets for building an automated and scalable online business in this extensive guide: 7-Step Roadmap for Building an Automated and Scalable Online Business
But, if you’re also curious about what that daily checklist looked like on a daily basis, here’s a breakdown and some advice on how you can organize your own journey.
Consuming Knowledge
For the first few months, I dedicated a lot of time to learning. This meant reading articles, watching tutorials, and absorbing all the information I could find related to starting and growing an online business.
I knew I had to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
Active Implementation
After learning, I picked specific strategies or ideas a few times each week and applied them.
Remember: It’s not just what you know; it’s what you do with that knowledge.
I would choose new insights or strategies and put them into action. This varied from writing blog posts, creating lead magnets, to developing products. The idea is to put knowledge into action.
Promotion and Engagement
Once I created something, I promoted it heavily across various platforms—be it in my content on Instagram, Pinterest pins, or engagement in niche Facebook groups.
Once you publish something, like a blog post or a product, don’t stop there. You’ve only just begun. The result comes from what you do after.
Never assume people will just discover it on their own. You’ve gotta do the work to help it gain traction and momentum. Eventually, you’ll get to the point where search engines and platforms show your content or products to more people faster, but in the beginning, it’s all you.
When I would make something new I didn’t just talk about it once ; I regularly talked about my products, as if they were the one great thing I’ve done. Especially when it came to products and lead magnets. With those, one is often better than many. This can help you focus your messages, content, and target your audience, which, in turn, helps maintain momentum.
For me, I used Instagram, Pinterest, and participated in Facebook groups related to my niche as my primary tools. This step is crucial.
Networking and Feedback
A significant portion of my time was also dedicated to engaging with my peers and community. I sought conversations with people who had similar goals and those in my niche to gain feedback and more ideas for future products, content, and etc.
All these activities were driven by my singular goal: to start an online business that would eventually allow me to leave my job.
Making a Daily Checklist Work for You
Through trial and error, I developed a daily ritual that kept me grounded and efficient.
First, know that there are two kinds of days I typically have on any given week.
Half my time was focused on a specific goal, projects, content, or product creation. The other half of my time was for learning, thinking, figuring things out, playing around (trying new things), validating ideas through discussions and research, and making a plan.
So, I’ve summarized that into two general types of days.
- a Focused Productive Day
- a Creative Downtime Day
Here’s a glimpse of what my daily checklist looked like on those types of days.
Focused Productive Day (Daily Checklist)
Start (45 min)
- Review tasks for the day
- Check for urgent emails
- Engage briefly on social media
Middle (2-4 hours)
- Create content/product
- Post content/product
- Engage on chosen platform for a set timeframe
End (45 min)
- Respond to emails
- Reflect on accomplishments and goals
- Plan tasks for the next day
When I shifted towards more creative and strategic activities, my checklist would be the following:
Creative Downtime Day (Daily Checklist)
Start (45 min) – note this is same as the other list
- Review tasks for the day
- Check for urgent emails
- Engage briefly on social media
Middle (2-4 hours)
- Learn and consume content
- Play around / tinker / try new things
- Think / brainstorm Ideas / Figure things out
- Engage in conversation / Research / Validate Ideas
- Make a plan for my next goal or project
End (45 min) – note this is same as the other list
- Respond to emails
- Reflect on accomplishments and goals
- Plan tasks for the next day
Your Turn
The key to the first 6 months is finding a routine that works for you, includes actionable tasks, and sticking to it.
If you’re starting out, feel free to use my daily checklist as a starting point and tailor it to your circumstances.

Everyone’s journey is unique, but discipline, consistency, and a willingness to learn go a long way. Stay focused on your goals, and remember, the only way to finish a marathon is by taking it one step at a time.
My Current Priorities (8 years later)
Once you have a solid niche and signature product, you will probably want to keep a very similar daily checklist because I do, even today.
That said, you would also start to include these 4 additions to your priorities:
1. Generating Leads With Content
Create valuable content to attract potential leads for your lead magnet. Utilize various platforms to reach leads.
2. Share Social Proof in Your Content
Encourage, collect and strategically share social proof with your community to showcase the value of your products and expertise
3. Collect Feedback to Optimize Your Products / Funnels
Gather feedback to refine your products, lead magnets, content, and sales funnel to improve your conversions and the customers experience.
4. Maximize Time and Profitability
Automate and templatize business activities where possible to maximize the results from your efforts. Remember to manage your expenses to maintain healthy profits.
