If you’ve ever bought a digital product online, you know how hard it can be to figure out if it’s worth your money. You have to take a leap of faith, trusting that the product will do what it says it will. And even then, if you’re not happy with your purchase, getting your money back can be a nightmare.

With this in mind, we’ve put together a list of ways that you can create content that will help you sell your digital products and show people what they’ll get from your digital product before they buy it—and why doing so could help increase sales!

Use these ideas for your content, marketing, and sales pages to skyrocket your digital product sales!

Giving a peek into your product can provide a huge, huge boost to your conversion rate and it is the big reason that so many digital product businesses include product videos on their product sales page.

When you can get your potential customers to see what they’ll get before they buy it, they’re more likely to buy. This is especially true if your product is a digital product.

This isn’t limited to your product sales page though. You can boost sales of your digital products with videos on social media too.

Digital products are much more difficult to understand than physical products, so having some sort of demo or sample can help potential customers understand how your product works before they buy it.

When a potential customer understands your product, you can be confident that they’ll understand how it will benefit them, which in turn makes them more likely to buy.

These ideas for giving a peak to customers aren’t limited to one use. You can use any of these ideas to help you throughout the process of selling your Digital products.

Use these content ideas for :

  • Content and captions on Instagram
  • As ideas for short videos like Reels or TikToks
  • Use them for ads or Pinterest Pins
  • On your sales pages and product pages
  • To inspire your graphics and images
  • And as Email campaigns too

All of these ideas can be applied to many of your marketing efforts to make your digital products more effective, and help you to sell more.

Content Idea #1: Give a peek of what your digital product can do!

When you’re trying to get your audience to buy what you’re selling, it’s important to give them a peek at what they can expect. To really sell the experience of your digital product, show them what it can do in a quick tutorial or Instagram reel or TikTok using a trending sound.

We’ve seen a lot of videos and tutorials that show you how a product works, but we think our approach is a little different.

We like this example below because it gives a unique peek at how much easier it is to create an Instagram feed better and quicker using our products.

here’s an example:

Content Idea #2″ What is the product?

The first thing you should do is describe your product as a whole. What is it? What does it do? How many different ways can people use it? How does it compare to similar products, if there are any (and there usually are)? How long has this product been around, and what benefits have people seen from using it?

Here’s an example reel:

Content Idea #3: How does it work?

The best way to give your audience a peek of what they’d get in your digital product is by showing them how it works and what benefits they will get from using it.

For example, if you have a course on creating an online course, explain how the process goes:

  • You start with an idea for a course
  • You create content for the course
  • You promote and sell the course to students
  • Students buy the course, use it and then they’re done!

Content Idea #4: Why should they care about solving the problem your digital product fixes for them?

One of the keys to successfully converting a browser into a buying customer is to emphasize how important your product is to solving their problem.

You can do this in a number of ways:

  • Explain why the problem exists, and why it’s so bad.
  • Tell them how your product solves this problem by providing an example or case study of someone who has already used your product and seen success with it.
  • Show them that other people have tried to solve this problem but failed at solving it as well as you do (i.e., show proof of concept).

Here’s an example:

Content Idea #5: Share the benefits they’ll get out of it.

The best way to convince people that your digital product is worth buying is by showing them how it will benefit them. It’s like a sneak peek of what they’ll get in your digital product, except you’re giving it to them before they’ve purchased anything from you!

Give as much detail as possible about the ways in which their lives will be better if they use what you’re selling. You can use any of the following points:

  • The product will help them make more money
  • The product will save them time and effort
  • The product will make their job easier

Here’s an example:

Content Idea #6: Show them how to avoid the pain of continuing on their current path without it.

Whether you’re selling a digital product or a physical product, it’s important to make sure that your audience knows what they’re missing out on. In other words, show them how they are feeling pain.

It could be something like:

  • They don’t have enough time to do the things they love because of their current schedule and workload
  • They have to spend an extra hour in the car every day due to traffic congestion (or another frustrating situation)
  • Their employees aren’t performing up to their expectations and need more training or coaching

Here’s an example:

Content Idea #7: Get visual and show it off. If it’s digital, use screenshots, photos, videos, and mockups when possible

You can use images, videos, or mockups to give customers a sense of what they would get when they purchase your digital product. If you have access to the product itself, show it in action by taking a video or photos yourself. For example:

  • Show a picture or slideshow – showing off the product with its different parts labeled.
  • Record yourself using the product and show off examples of what it can do. If possible, invite a customer who has already purchased your product to demonstrate how it works for potential buyers.
  • Create an infographic explaining product and how it functions (with appropriate disclaimers).

Content Idea #8: Share the process

When I’m working on a new product or campaign for my business, I love taking time to share it with people who are interested in what I do. When I share my process of creating something new, it helps me stay accountable and focused on what needs to get done.

Sharing the real behind the scenes can help build a connection with people, and helps them relate to my business and brand products

Here’s an example:

Content Idea #9: Give a tutorial and use your product as a prop (name drop your product)

If you’re looking for a fun way to sell your product, try giving a tutorial! Write a tutorial on how to do something cool with your product and then use it as a prop in the video. That way, you’ll be able to show off all the different ways you can use the product and help people find new uses for it.

Here’s an example:

Conclusion: If your audience can’t see how the product benefits them, they’re less likely to buy it.

Whether you’re creating a sales page or making content for social media about your digital product, it’s important not to just list the features of your product.

You have to show how those features are going solve their pain point or meet their need.

You’re potential customers want to know how it will make their life better, how it solves a problem, or how it fits into their busy lifestyle. If you can’t clearly communicate that, you’re going to have a hard time selling your product.

The most important thing is to be real and transparent with your audience. They want to know that this product will help them solve a problem, so show them how it works and what they’ll get out of it. If they can’t see how the product benefits them, they’re less likely to buy it.
