To save time and streamline, you’ll want to focus more on creating content that will remain relevant over time. These are subjects or themes that don’t become outdated quickly. They address timeless aspects of your industry or niche. For example, if you’re in the fitness industry, an evergreen topic could be “Effective Home Workouts” because people are generally interested in staying fit regardless of the season.

One way to make sure you’re making evergreen content is to utilize content pillars. These are your main themes or topics that anchor your content strategy. They can guide you, keeping your content consistent, relevant, and purposeful. For instance, if you’re in the fitness world, your content pillars could include “Workout Tips,” “Healthy Recipes,” and “Fitness Challenges.”

Why waste time on new content all the time when you can revisit content topics that are known to be a “sure thing”? 

Look through your past content, metrics, and analytics and look for the posts that stand out with a lot of engagement.

  • Did one of your posts get a lot of likes? That means it was relevant to your audience.
  • Did something get a lot of replies or comments? That means it was an engaging topic.
  • Has one of your posts received a lot of shares? Your audience found it very relatable.
  • Were there a lot of saves of your content? Your audience found it valuable.
  • Did you experience a lot of new Follows, link clicks or sales? Your content was all of the above and fully optimized! Great!

Identify what your audience loved the most. These topics are likely your gems and could be ready for some future repurposing!

Take deeper dives into past content to repurpose it on your calendar

Take a closer look at your previous content and see what your audience loved the most. Then, think about how you can break it down into smaller topics that you can explore in more detail. This way, you can create fresh posts with new insights that your audience will love.

Let’s say you previously wrote a blog post about “The Top 10 Marketing Tips.” Take a closer look at that post and identify each tip as a potential standalone topic for deeper exploration. You can then schedule each of these topics as separate posts on your calendar, diving deeper into each tip with fresh insights and examples.

I know this is a tough one since you’re short on time, but if you implement everything I mentioned above, perhaps this will come a lot easier! Batching your content tasks together really does save a lot of time!

Batching is as simple as doing more of what you are already doing. So, if you’re already making a reel, why not make 2? If you’re already writing caption, why not make two? 

The best way to do this is set aside dedicated chunks of time to create content in batches. This not only makes your life easier but also ensures a constant flow of content.
